Changes in Potential Pathogens During Temperature-controlled Pig Manure Composting Process

چکیده

With the development of intensive livestock and poultry breeding, problems associated with pathogenic microorganisms in animal manure are becoming more obvious. The bacteria pig may cause zoonotic transmission, which not only hinder healthy industry, but also harm people's health. In this study, diversity abundance potential pathogens composting process under three temperature-controlled treatments (high-temperature group, medium-temperature group low-temperature group) were analyzed based on high-throughput sequencing technology. A total 13 identified process, among Enterococcus faecalis Agrobacterium vitis accounted for largest proportions (12%). Under different treatments, abundances Pseudomonas stutzeri Acinetobacter baumannii changed most obviously. Moreover, high-temperature treatment significantly lower than those treatment, indicating that high temperature condition could effectively remove inhibit growth reproduction pathogens.

Inactivation of human pathogens during phase II composting of manure-based mushroom growth substrate.

Commercial production of white button mushrooms (Agaricus bisporus) requires a specialized growth substrate prepared from composted agricultural by-products. Because horse and poultry manures are widely used in substrate formulations, there is a need to determine the extent to which the composting process is capable of eliminating human pathogens. In this study, partially composted substrate wa...

Transformation of organic matter during co-composting of pig manure with sawdust.

Co-composting of pig manure with sawdust was studied in order to characterize the organic transformation during the process, using both chemical and spectroscopic methods. Humic acids (HA) and fulvic acids (FA) were fractionated from immature and mature pig manure compost, and characterized. After 63 days of composting, the ratio of total organic carbon and soluble organic carbon decreased to a...

Composting Unamended Chicken Manure

Normally, manures are composted with amendments. However, a large commercial egg producer in Ohio i s composting unamended chicken manure. Studies were done to characterize this composting, both in situ and in pilot-scale vessels. While overly wet material can hamper initial operation, the general progression dries the material and produces a granular output that is below 20 percent (wet basis)...

Veterinary antimicrobials in feedlot manure: dissipation during composting and effects on composting processes.

Composting of manure may lead to the degradation of veterinary antimicrobials, but it is largely unknown if the presence of antimicrobials affects the composting process. Open-air windrow composting of manure from beef cattle (Bos taurus) administered chlortetracycline, sulfamethazine, and tylosin was investigated in a 2-yr study. At windrow construction, chlortetracycline had extensively isome...

Speciation of heavy metals during co-composting of livestock manure

Heavy metals determination in manures provides benefi cial information to predict the availability and the potential contamination of environment. Therefore, a study was carried out to investigate heavy metals changes in livestock manure during a co-composting process. The metals were stepwise fractionated into exchangeable, adsorbed, organically bound, carbonate precipitated and residual forms...
